Pickens County Advocacy Center is the only private non-profit agency in our county to provide 24 hour/ 7 days week assistance to the victims of sexual assault without discrimination. These services are free of charge and are available to anyone regardless of age, race, or creed. One of our main objectives is to decrease or maintain the immediate stress level of our victim. We achieve this goal by providing the victim with a well-trained victim advocate that will be with them every step of the healing process. Additionally, we offer free onsite counseling with a licensed therapist to victims as well as secondary victims. We work continuously to promote higher education within the community of personal safety, healthy relationships, and sexual assault awareness. We also see that reaching adolescents and teaching healthy relationships of all kinds is the foundation for a brighter future. Our ultimate goal is to be there for the victims of sexual assault in any way that we can; our services are 24/7 to ensure all victim's needs can be met no matter what the case may be.
The purpose of the Pickens County Advocacy Center (formerly known as the Rape Crisis Counsel of Pickens) is to provide immediate 24-hour response to sexual assault victims and their families through medical, legal, and law enforcement accompaniment. The agency also provides educational programs, information and referral services, and free counseling services to victims as well as secondary victims. In addition, PCAC also provides training for medical personnel, social service agencies, and law enforcement on the dynamics of sexual assault. As a continued service to the community, all services that the PCAC provides are complimentary and confidential.
